When we pulled up to the park and stopped Max looked around and said “Oh my goodness!” in amazement. It wasn’t anything spectacular but to a 2 (almost 3) year old it must have been really impressive and exciting.
After playing a bit we started our journey home. We got just about home and we heard this rustling and noise in the trees. Matt said squirrels must be fighting but after a closer look we found that it was actually a cat and a bird. I don’t have to tell you how it ended for the bird. After a few seconds of bird squawking it stopped and the cat hopped out of the tree with its prize. I wouldn’t classify Matt as a cat hater he just really doesn’t want one. Calyn on the other hand would not mind having one. After my children witnessed the murder of a bird Matt said “see Calyn that is why you don’t want a cat. They kill innocent birds” Doesn’t that bother you? Calyn just shrugged and said “no” She then said “well we could just keep the cat inside all the time” to which Matt replied something like yeah but then it couldn’t be outside playing and catching birds. To which Calyn said “we will just feed it birds” (with a very um duh like sound in her voice) It appears my little sweetie had no compassion for the birds.

I think that the cat was very hungry and it needed to eat so that she would be able to feed her kittens that were nearby!! Love, Auntie M
