Fun in the Sun at the Vara House

Last week our friend Stephanie e-mailed and asked if we would like to come over on Sunday for a dip in the pool, hot dogs, hamburgers and some play time with the adults and kids.
Matt and Stephanie have a beautiful home and we all had a blast taking advantage of the pool in this ridiculous summer heat!
We did learn a few things while at their house. 1. no bottles near the pool if Max is around. He likes to pick them up and drop them so they shatter. 2. Do not drink a whole bunch the night before then try and sit out in the sun all day just ask Merrick. 3. When Drew jumps off the diving board watch him the entire time until her surfaces so that Corry does not have to yell “Drew’s floaties fell off!, Drew’s floaties fell off! Luckily Uncle Matt took quick action to help the two out. The real hero was Corry for keeping Drew above water and yelling for help. What is odd is Stephanie and I had just watched Drew jump off the board. We just happened to turn our heads when he hit the water and missed his floating popping off.
Lessons have been learned and we had a fabulous time!

When we got home, and after some much needed naps, the kids wanted to go in the backyard. Here is a cute pic that Matt took of them sweeeping off the porch.
