Matt and I had a busy weekend but a fun one! We started out by going downtown on Friday evening to see Duran Duran. What a great concert! They sounded wonderful! We were on the 16th row but the real excitement happened right before the concert. Matt and I had parked in the Theater District parking lot but WAY far away from the Verizon Wireless Theater. If you are familiar with downtown Houston, we were way over by City Hall. Anyway, we made the walk from City Hall to the Theater and as we were walking on the side of the Verizon Wireless theater building this white van pulled up. Matt was just staring at the van. I said someone you know? (laughing at how hard he was staring down the van) Those words didn't even get all the way out of my mouth when the door opens and who gets out? Duran Duran. We were like 5 feet from them. It was pretty cool.
Last night was my Holiday Christmas party for work. It is downtown as well and since Anadarko provides free food and free drinks (Crown included) we stayed at the Hyatt downtown. (where the party is held) The food as always was delicious! Even the butter (right Mandy wink wink) They served shrimp cocktail, crab claws, salads, asparagus, tomatoes with balsamic feta and red onion salad plus a lot of other stuff to go with the Turkey and Lamb that they had at the carving stations. For dessert there was an assortment of delicious items. I chose the Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. (An excellent choice!) After a nice dinner and some gambling in the casino Matt and I made our way to the white tent that was set up across from the Hyatt and enjoyed the musical styling of Huey Lewis and the News. Matt and I were front and center (literally) We were first row right int the center. They put on a great show as well. After the concert we headed back over to the hotel where we watched the comedians. The ones we went to were hilarious! After the comedians the party was over and everything was starting to shut down. We had a great time. Anadarko sure knows how to throw a party!
